Imperial Court Proceedings

COMPLAINT | CREATION of the REVIEW BOARD | DISCOVERY | DELIBERATION | RULING | PUNISHMENT | REVIEW | END OF CASE

1) A Complaint is filed by a member with the Security Officer, who will initially review the case for further consideration by the Review Board. If the Officer feels that the Bylaws, the Code of Conduct and/or the ICMJ have been violated, he/she will mandate the creation of a Review Board, and shall appoint at random two Imperials to sit with the XO on the Review Board. The Security Officer shall serve as "prosecutor" in the case. The Supreme Commander shall appoint a defense counsel for the defendant.

2) The Review Board gathers all evidence and statements. All Members, regardless of Rank or Position, must comply with the "subpoenas", and if they do not, they face contempt of court charges. This phase may take up to one week.

3) The Board considers the evidence and rules within three days.

4) The Court Delivers its ruling. A Quorum of three "Judges" is required for an official ruling on all cases presented to the Review Board.

5) Unless further evidence comes to light, the court considers and delivers the appropriate punishment within two days.

6) The Supreme Commander and/or Executive Officer then have a one week period in which to review the case and lessen the punishment or issue a pardon...(or increase the penalty:)

7) The ruling of the court is then carried out and the case ends.
